House Langquist HQ

House Langquist HQ

I thought that if someone as good as you could like someone like me… then maybe I wasn’t as bad as I thought I was.
- E.
Welcome to Weselley!
  • Key traits of Weselleyans: knowledgable, loyal, cunning, stubborn, committed, witty, observant
  • Current King & Queen: King Innis Forde Langquist & Queen Avon Nymeria Langquist (nee Robbson)
  • Next of Kin: Prince Epsilon Light Langquist, aged 12
  • Alara Legacy Motto: By Wisdom and Prudence
  • Alara Legacy Sigil: Falcon against dark green and golden background, with motto underneath
The Weselleyans are known as steady people, because that’s what they are. Steady. Reliable. Loyal. They think through their decisions carefully and gather as much information as they can before they make a decision.

Most of the time, this means that the Weselleyans live in uninterrupted peace, with occasional debates held between each other for the good-natured spirit of it all. You can never win a debate against a Weselleyan and that’s a fact. They’re cunning and can quickly spot a person’s weakness.

Even more so when you’re part of House Langquist, the ruling family. The Langquists are known strategists, partially the reason why they’ve held claim over the throne for the last thousands of years. It’s hard to break a man that can break you faster than you can figure him out.

With that said, the Langquists stay out of other Province’s way, unless absolutely necessary. Their loyalties run deep and they’ve been loyal friends with House Sieran, House Wintrel, and House Alara since anyone can remember, steadfastly defending them in their time of need.

A Weselleyan hardly ever backs down once he’s taken a stance, no matter how right or wrong their stance turns out to be—often being called stubborn because of this trait. But throughout it all, these are the things that make Weselley a desirable place to be. There is a sense of brotherhood and camaraderie in the air that most Provinces lack. Everyone treats each other as equals and there is an understood respect for the King and Queen that can be seen in the faces of every Weselleyan.

Arcke and Weselley share the same terrain, although most would argue that Weselley got the shorter end of the stick because it is not as beautiful nor luxurious as Arcke. The biggest difference between Arcke and Weselley is the fact that most Weselleyan towns are grounded and people live in log cabins as opposed to tree houses. Weselleyans are notoriously calmer and more mild-mannered compared to their Arckean counterparts.

Due to their harsher terrains, Weselleyans are regarded often as survivors. The winters bear coldness that is hardly bearable, often picking off the weaker ones. The summer brings about an uncomfortable heat. Yet, through it all, Weselleyans survive. That’s the unofficial Weselleyan motto. “Weselleyans Survive.”

Welcome to Arcke!

  • Key traits of Arckeans: Wild, privileged, arrogant, fun-loving, free spirited, does not care much for rules/authority, likes to have a good adventure, cannot sit still
  • Current King & Queen: King Cavender Hastley Sieran & Queen Valencia Rose Sieran (nee Blanchard)
  • Next of Kin: Princess Kit-Sun Sieran, age 16
  • Sieran Legacy Motto: Without Fear
  • Sieran Legacy Sigil: A black stallion on its hind legs against a background of pale red with their motto underneath
Set against lush terrains of vivid green forests, snow-capped mountains, and beautiful lakes, Arcke is truly a sight to behold. The struggle for power over Arcke began ever since the richer houses from Lamfell wanted a place of their own away from commoners. They found what they were looking for in Arcke, a place so beautiful that the early settlers couldn’t quite believe what they’d found.

Most of Arcke is forest, with lulls in between making room for lakes and pastures for the wild horses to roam about.

House Sieran has been in rule for the last eight hundred years. The last two Houses that contested with the Sierans for the throne and rule over Arcke were sent into exile to live in the Arckean Wilderness—a place so wild, filled with unimaginable things.

The remarkable thing about Arcke is how its settlers began climbing into trees and building their homes there, mostly for their own safety against the wolves and Others that roam the Wilderness. Though most homes are found in a centralized area, often modernized and far away from where creatures roam, the homes still have not come down from the trees. They are known as Floating Towns and Arcke has three major Floating Towns: Tembhel, Palastial, and Evergreen.

Palastial is the only Floating Town that does not touch the ground in any way—with pathways built among the trees. Palastial mostly serves as a tourist destination and the port of luxury in Arcke where all things are splendid.

Tembhel is where most of the loggers live, often venturing deep inside the forests to do their job. Evergreen is the largest of the Floating Towns and arguably the safest as it is the oldest. They deal with trade amongst Arcke and its neighboring Provinces, Roseren and Weselley. Their land spreads from the trees to the ground, where homes can both be found. Evergreen is also where you will find the best horses. Often other people from other Provinces will travel to Evergreen to purchase a horse.

The Sieran palace is built mostly in the trees, though a portion of it is on the ground—mostly for the sake of visitors from other Provinces that are not quite comfortable with the thought of being in a tree house. The Sierans themselves are known to be skilled horse riders, archers, and have a notable mean streak to those they feel have wronged them.

Currently, thanks to Queen Valencia, Arcke is in its most peaceful state yet, having little to no problems with other Provinces.

Most families living in Arcke have more than enough money to get by, but because they can’t sit still, they often do work. With that said, they also tire quickly of the jobs they do and are often placed on rosters so their jobs rotate. Most Arckeans, once they find something they are genuinely passionate about, are hard-working and don’t mind the work they have to do.

Arckeans are loud, brash, and often don’t care about personal boundaries or your opinion of them for that matter. Most would call them wild—maybe even rude—but they call themselves fun. Due to their privileged background, they may come off as arrogant to other Provinces but Arckeans are generally very good-natured folk.

Welcome to Roseren!

  • Key traits of Roserenians: friendly, kind, peaceful, unbiased, non-confrontational, helpful, trustful, curious, and mischievous.
  • Current King & Queen: King Jeddard Stance Alara & Queen Reese Elina Alara (nee Holburne)
  • Next of Kin: Prince Aston Levine Alara, aged 22
  • Alara Legacy Motto: Always Faithful
  • Alara Legacy Sigil: White rabbit on a dark green background with their motto underneath

Under the rule of the wise King Jeddard, the peaceful community flourished into a successful Province, with his wife, the just and beautiful Queen Reese, and his council by his side, aiding Roseren’s rise to be a notable Province. The Alara Legacy, or House Alara, have ruled Roseren for thousands of years uncontested.

Famed for their fresh markets (held every weekend from 6AM to 12PM), never ending hills, stone cottages, and The Fountain of Life—the waterfall found in the heart of Roseren to which locals and tourists alike flock to for its magical healing properties—they have established themselves as one of the most beautiful and welcoming Provinces.

Noted to be one of the most picturesque places to live in the Realms, Roseren does disappoint with its many beautiful sights to see. From the Hills to the North, to the Rolling Hills, to the Hills of Flowers, there is not one point of Roseren that is not beautiful. Claimed by nature and filled with people who truly do appreciate the beauty they’ve been surrounded by, Roseren does not live down its reputation of being the most peaceful and one with the land.

Currently Roseren is the only Province of the Realms with no problems with the other Provinces. Their people are beautiful, kind, and known to have a mischievous streak. Often it doesn’t cause them much harm, as they believe curiosity is what helps the human mind grow.

King Jeddard and company can be found on weekends in the fresh markets as well as mingling about with the other Roserenians in the town square. They do so to establish that the king does care about his people and they do not feel above and the people should not feel beneath them in any way. Most Provinces consider this a foolish almost idiotic practice, but no harm has come to any Alaras since they’ve begun the practice.

The Alara family tends to avoid confrontations and will often be the middleman between two Provinces that are having problems. They will readily jump to anyone’s aid if they need help in solving an issue. They are usually unbiased—a trait that most Roserens possess—and value fairness.

Powers

Each member born into a royal family will have powers, some even developing more than one power.

The most common power is the control of water. This power has even reached the common people because of the various affairs that kings have had.

There is no such thing as an uncommon power, however, because in the last few decades, there have been several powers developed that people have hardly heard of.

The following are the powers of the Protectors:

  • Princess Abigail Gaetz - Skilled with weapons
Abby has mastered any and all weapons she’s been given, often in a very short amount of time.
  • Princess Arissa Sieran - Fire control; Emotion absorption

Arissa can control fire and can absorb emotions, mostly negative ones, from the people she is close to, to fuel the fire.

  • Princess Blakely Ekre - Emotional manipulation

Blakely can make people feel what she wants them to feel, but in return she gets tired really quickly and often collapses after too much emotional manipulation.

  • Dominic Hawthorne - Teleportation

Dom can only teleport over short distances and only to places that he knows.

  • Prince Eric Noble - Plant manipulation

Eric can manipulate the growth of plants, but he has very poor control over this power of his.

  • Princess Heather Wintrel - Synchronization/Tracking; Suggestion

Heather can basically identify people who are World-born, but also have a Realms-birthright. She also has the power of suggestion, which is a lighter form of mind-control, whereby she can tell people to do something and they are fully aware of it, but they cannot control how or why they are doing what they are.

  • Princess Kit-Sun Sieran - Weak control of the wind; Emotional draining

Kit can control the wind, but it is very weak—light breezes, etc. She can also emotionally unload herself onto the people she is close to.

  • Prince Quinn Wintrel - Water control; immunity to Heather’s suggestion

Quinn can control water, but he hardly practices because he doesn’t want to escalate his powers into ice-usage. He is also the only one who is immune to Heather’s powers of suggestion.

  • Princess Taylor Friar - Resistance to emotional and mental attacks
Taylor cannot be attacked emotionally (by people with powers such as Kit) or mentally (by people with powers such as Heather).
  • Prince Theodore Langquist - Immunity to toxins; Mind-reading

Theo is immune to any alcohols and other mind-altering substances. He can also read minds but he must be connected physically with those whose minds he is reading.

Realm-Birth vs World-Birth

There are two ways a person can be Realm-bound:

  1. Being born in the Realms
  2. Being born into a royal family that is both Realm-and World-bound

In regards to the first case, it’s the usual births. The mother is usually pregnant and the mother usually gives birth and they stay in the Realms for the rest of their lives, often unaware that another world exists parallel to theirs.

In regards to the second case, the births are usually more complicated. More often than not, the Realm-mother does not give birth to the child, but rather the World-mother. But upon the birth in the World, the Realm-mother will have marked the child as hers, thus granting the baby both Realm and World birthrights.

But a Realm-mother cannot simply choose which child they want to claim as theirs. Each province has a Tracker—usually someone employed that can sense and find all the babies of their bloodline born in the World. They are usually born into the royal family or have royal blood as Trackers are not made, they are born, and powers aren’t granted to normal families.

It is the Realm-mother’s duty to get to these children during their births to mark them as hers and acknowledge them as part of her bloodline.

However, a Realm-mother can also carry her own child and this child would be Realm-born, but can easily access the World as well.

Around thirteen or fourteen, these World-born Realm children will usually be introduced to the Realms—first through their dreams and then gradually they will be introduced to the world itself. It’s a slow process, but it is also a necessary process to ensure the transition is smooth.

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Parents: David and Sarah Williams; Prince Barden Wintrel, Duke of Burr*, and Princess Quorra Wintrel, Duchess of Burr
Siblings: none; Prince Julian Spence Ekre of Tribeth (half-brother), Princess Heather Ellis Wintrel of Ballorn (twin sister).
Birthday: April 5th
Marital Status: Dating Arissa, betrothed to Princess Kit-Sun; in love with Arissa.
Powers: Controls water

Background

Quinn was born lucky, with an honest to God good upbringing. He had two parents that loved him a lot and made sure he got the best and was the best at whatever he wanted to do. He really couldn’t have asked for anything more. He seemed to hit the jackpot when he discovered the Realms with his friends and found out there was a whole other life he’d been missing. He’d eased into his life as a prince much easier than his other friends had adjusted—mostly because he reassured his sense of worth. Now at seventeen, he’s the quarterback, the guy that girls throw themselves at, and he couldn’t be luckier.

Naturally hardworking and driven to succeed, Quinn realized a long time ago that being lucky growing up wasn’t the only thing that got him to where he is now and where he wants to go soon. Opinionated and hardly ever willing to back down or admit he’s wrong, he’s garnered the reputation of being slightly arrogant. But, of course, as long as he continues being brilliant—he knows he can get away with anything.

Full Name: Heather Ellis Aarons
Realms Identity: Princess Heather Ellis Wintrel of Ballorn
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Parents: Eric and Cassidy Aarons; Prince Barden Wintrel, Duke of Burr, and Princess Quorra Wintrel, Duchess of Burr
Siblings: none; Prince Julian Spencer Ekre of Tribeth (half-brother), Prince Quinn Dominic Wintrel of Ballorn (twin brother)
Birthday: April 5th
Marital Status: Betrothed to Prince Oden Saile of the Province of Plymth; later has an affair with Kingsley.
Powers: Able to synchronize the people under her charge as leader of the Protectors; the power of suggestion, a lighter form of mind-control—the person who has a suggestion upon them is fully aware of what is happening to them but cannot control how or why they are doing what they are doing.

Background

Heather knew from very young that she was special. And so she spent most of her young life trying to live up to being that special person. But all the achievements never quite felt right. At least not until she’d discovered what it was thatreallymade her special. She was in middle school and she’d cultivated a group of friends that she figured was special—there was something in their aura and presence she could sense that made them unique. Together they stumbled into the Realms. Heather naturally took her position as leader and led them through a world none of them understood. She grew up in that position and found herself assuming responsibilities that fourteen year old girls didn’t usually take on.

While her life in the Realms took off, her life back home was not so stellar. She found herself pining for the attention of her parents who were never there. Heather is a hard worker who wants people to acknowledge the work she’s done. She’s ambitious and hardly ever backs down. She knows who she is and isn’t scared to make sure you know who she is either.
